  Robinson & Crusoe   Gallery  Trailer
A roof surrounded by ocean. Two men meet here after a disaster. One speaks several European languages. The other a strange kind of gibberish of some Oriental origin. The ocean is the only witness to their struggles to find a common language so they can initially meet their need for survival, and later on enjoy their ‘bounty’, dream of their past and decide about their future and a new life…

A new production of this award-winning performance created by Meridiano’s artistic leader, Giacomo Ravicchio, and the artistic leader of Lyons ’Centre Dramatique National’, Nino D’Introna.

The performance, written in 1985, has played on four continents and been staged by 100 theatres in 20 different countries.

The playwrights’ own original production alone has won the following awards:
  • Best Italian performance (Italy 1991)
  • Best scenographic idea, Schauspiele ’88 (Munich 1988)
  • Best foreign performance, Critics Award (Canada 1987)
  • The ’Golden Ticket Award’ (Taormina, Sicily 1986)
Audiences of (almost) all ages adore ’Robinson & Crusoe’ for its universal story and dramaturgy, for its comic universe and its near genius interplay between the verbal and the non-verbal.
